Leadership in Action
Every accomplishment begins with a challenge. Whether rebuilding an operation, making critical decisions in real time, or leading an entire facility, my approach has always been the same: take ownership, earn trust, and deliver lasting results.
The Turn Around
Challenge
Inherited an underperforming car wash operation with inconsistent processes and excessive labor hours.
Strategy
Redesigned training, standardized procedures, increased accountability, and strengthened operational oversight.
Impact
Reduced labor hours, eliminated the need for an additional full-time supervisor, and maintained an accident-free operation.
Operational Turnaround
Making the Call
Challenge
Every day brought changing conditions—traffic, weather, staffing shortages, equipment issues, customer demands, and drivers approaching DOT hours-of-service limits.
Decision
Made real-time dispatch decisions by weighing safety, DOT compliance, service commitments, and operational priorities—often with only minutes to act.
Result
Protected customer service, maintained DOT compliance, minimized disruptions, and kept drivers, customers, and the operation moving safely.
Operational Decision Making
Leading at Scale
Directed daily operations supporting:
Up to 90 package drivers
15 car wash employees
Multiple supervisors
Thousand of deliveries and pick up packages
Maintained service performance, safety, and productivity in one of UPS's most demanding operational environments.
Operations Leadership
Entrusted to Lead
Responsibility
Selected as the lead supervisor responsible for the end-to-end Saturday operation for the San Diego package center.
Oversight
Owned the operation from the first dispatch decision to the last driver returning to the building.
Directed route dispatch, staffing, safety, operational performance, customer service, payroll, and executive reporting.
Made real-time operational decisions to balance service commitments, DOT compliance, safety, and changing business demands.
Impact
Successfully led one of the week's most demanding operations, remaining on-site until the final driver safely returned and the operation was complete—often working shifts of up to 18 hours.
